Matches between Francesco Bruni's Italian Azzurra crew and Ben Ainslie's British Team Origin squad generally prove interesting and this time despite early dominance by the British, it was the Italians who came out on top.

In the other matches Italian team Mascalzone Latino, skippered by Gavin Brady went down at the hands of Jochen Schumann's All4One; Dean Barker's Emirates Team New Zealand saw off Paul Cayard's Artemis and Bertrand Pace's French crew on Aleph defeated the Russian Synergy crew headed by Karol Jablonski.
