Change of lead on the second beat as Red hit the front.
 
They lead by the length of the spreader leg from Ramrod and then Leenabarca
 
Next is the Italians on Fantasticaa who overtook Samba on the second beat..

Scrappy taker down on Ramrod gave Red a chance to close the gap in second. Samba Pa Ti looking comfortable in third but also a poor take down...
 
Next Leenabarca, then Fantasticaa then Argo then Arethusa.
 
Next Star thern Teasing Machine, New Wave, Shakedown...

Leaders Ramrod and Red were firsty to gybe on to port and have extended a few lengths...
 
Samba the Shakedoiwn or Argo...
 
Fleet now all on port...
 
Breeze at about 7 knots flat seas...

R9 First Windward....

Ramrod worked the left to good effect and rounded first with a two length advantage over Red..
 
Samba came around third with Argo fourth.,..

Fleet well spread along line with a little bunching at the boat end...
 
 Ramrod win the pin, Samba also away well at the pin end...New Wave in a nice lane one third down from the bpat end...
 
Shakedown also away well towards the pin end...

Scene is set for a final day Melges 32 showdown between series leader Samba Pa Ti, New Wave in second, Red in third and Fantasticaa in fourth.
 
Conditions are pretty nice for the final two races: clear blue skies, 6-8 knots and a light chop.
 
RC have posted a short postponement and we will be back with you with the Melges 32 start soon...
